What exactly causes dermatitis is still unknown at this time and is being researched by many scientists around the world. So far this research has shown that the condition appears when the immune system, a persons genes and the environment interact. People who suffer from dermatitis have unusually sensitive immune systems which react very strongly against certain allergens and irritants. Often, those who suffer from the condition have family members with allergies.
